I’ve just got home from Complex Weavers Seminars in St Charles near Chicago with more exciting news – the jacket I had accepted for the Complexity 2016 exhibition has won the 3rd place award. It is called Snow Tracks and is woven in a form of double weave in silk and wool to show a mix of textures which reflect icy tyre tracks in soft snow.
The jacket pattern was one of my designs as I wanted to reflect the weaving in the shape of the jacket. It is trimmed with a takadai braid in silk.
Exhibitions this summer
Good news … I’ve had a jacket accepted for Complexity 2016, the Complex Weavers Biennial Exhibition in the USA
… and three scarves will be shown at Craft in the Bay Summer Show: Weave
Once these exhibitions have opened I’ll post photos of the work I have on show.
The traveller has returned …..
Much earlier this year I had two pieces of my weaving selected for the Complex Weavers Complexity exhibition in America.
I was delighted that this jacket, which was called Water, won Best in Show.
I am equally delighted that it has now returned safely home after being exhibited in 3 different galleries in America.
The other piece that was selected, Frost, was also a prize winner – it was awarded Third Place. As it sold in the exhibition this has not returned but this is a glamour shot of the scarf.
